A selected group of talented young filmmakers will be invited to Leipzig for an innovative Video Camp. Two high profile mentors will supervise the emerging talents in two groups. Through the Video Camp Leipzig they will gain technical knowledge and knowledge in visual storytelling, which they can apply immediately. The Video Camp will take place in a special venue: The ‘Meisterzimmer’ are located in the center of Leipzig’s creative heart, the Spinnerei Leipzig. Here the participants will stay, learn and work in an inspiring atmosphere. Check out the NEWS section for more information about the venue.
One group will cover the promising topic 360˚-video under direction of a Mentor of the Agency AspektEins. The usage of the newest technology and working methods will result in a multimedia experience which lets us experience Leipzig in a whole new way.
The Mentor: Pascal Hanke studied European Media Science at the Potsdam University. He has comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge about design and production of 360˚-video and Virtual Reality. Since 2016, Hanke is responsible for the creating division regarding 360˚-video and Virtual Reality at AspektEins.
The Agency: AspektEins GmbH is Germany’s market leading agency regarding 360˚-videos. They have already produced videos for customers, such as Amazon, Disney and Mercedes-Benz, amongst many others. Their focus lies on holistic consultancy and implementation, from concept to spreading the content on selected platforms.
Excellent videos differentiate themselves from the masses through emotions. Emotional storytelling counts as one of the most important skills of a successful filmmaker.
The participants of this group will discover Leipzig with their cameras and get the chance to learn from an excellent mentor to produce not only beautiful video content, but also pieces of art, that are able to provoke emotions in everybody, who watches.
The Mentor: Matty Brown has caught public’s attention over the last few years and recently won the Story Award at the 2018 Independent Spirit Awards.
He has left a lasting impression with his distinctive style and was even nominated for an Emmy with his film „The piano“. Brown is a freelance director, cinematographer and editor based in Seattle/Atlanta and known for his emotional and imaginative pieces.
At the Video Camp Leipzig Matty will see Leipzig through his lens together with his mentees and stage the city in an extraordinary way.
